Domain expertise is the knowledge of a problem area, existing system, user need, and constraint set that lets a person judge what should be built and whether an AI agent’s output is useful.
As coding agents improve at execution, domain expertise becomes more visible as the bottleneck. The human still has to frame the right problem, notice missing context, and evaluate the result.
